The CAST Initiative
Born from the realization that sustainable, constructive change in the world often begins with casting the first brick or hammering the first nail, the Pure Art team helped build its first home in Peru in 2007 and The CAST Initiative emerged.
The CAST Initiative- Construct a Structure Today - was built on the premise that all people deserve dry, protected living conditions to raise a family. The provision of safe shelter is a basic human right, and the Pure Art Foundation is committed to working with local tradesmen to create simple structures that provide not only a reprieve from the elements, but the dignity of a home.
Donations to CAST will enable families who live on rain soaked earthen floors to be elevated to dry concrete foundations, supporting solid wooden walls and protective tin roofing. This program has a direct impact on the lives of many for several generations. The CAST Initiative also extends to the construction of healthcare facilities in the communities where CAST homes have been built. To date, three medical dispensaries have been formed, servicing families without access to first-line health care.
